2003 Race Results

White Rock Lake sailors sail well at Wurstfest. Roland Foerster wins Scot fleet, Chris Henkel is second in the Laser fleet and Rick Swazey placed 8th in a Sunfish fleet of 26 heavy hitters. Also see photos. November 1-2, 2003.

The 2003 season for Ligtning Fleet 35 has come to a close. A total of 8 boats participated. Clancy McKenna took first in the fall series and Jeff Bodkin was the 2003 overall winner. Full results.

Kelly Gough bests 34 in  Flying Scot Open House Regatta.  Forest Atkins wins the Challenger Fleet.  October 18-19, 2003  Complete results.

Gene Soltero wins the sailoff for the 2003 Lake Championship.   October 12th  Complete results.

Bill Draheim takes 5 first place finishes to win the JY-15 North Americans at Rush Creek Yacht Club.  October 3-5, 2003.

Kelly Gough, Richard Wade and Scott Mauney top the Flying Scots Summer Series.  14 boats qualify.  September 28, 2003

Jeff Perna and Gene Soltero were tied for the Lake Championship after sailing six races on September 27.  A sail-off will be held October 12th.  Complete results.

Gene Soltero and Alane Capen take first place in the Snipe Midwesterns.  September 13-14, 2003

Kelly Gough and Bruce Faust win Lake Championship Preliminaries on September 21, 2003.  Bruce Faust, Pat Glynn, Ralph Jones, Jeff Perna, George Szoboky, and Gene Soltero will compete in the finals.  Complete results and photos.

Adams Trophy Area F Elimination, CSC September 6 6-7  -  There were 4 teams and Greta Mittman from CSC was 1st .   Susan Justus CSC finished 2nd,  and Wendy Vann FWBC was 3rd .   The 4 race round robin was sailed in light to medium air. 

Mallory Cup Area F Elimination Regatta, CSC September 6-7  -  Scott Mauney from CSC was the only applicant and will advance to the finals.

Scott and Natalie Mauney won the Flying Scot Wife Husband Regatta which was sailed at Grande Maumelle Sailing Club outside of Little Rock.  See photos.  June 21-22, 2003.

Dallas Youth Race Week CSC  and Grapevine Sailing Club results.  June 14-18, 2003

Five teams entered the Sears Cup Area F Qualifier held at CSC on June 7-8.  The HYC team of Wesley Graham, Nathan Hartwell and Katie Ward placed first, with CSC's team of Joey Decosta, Paul Denison and Alex DeCosta in second.  Complete results.

Tom and Melissa Miller win tie breaker to take first in Flying Scot Texas Districts over Jeff Perna and Pat Manicchia.  Full results.

Bruce Faust and Chris Henkel are winners in Wrangler Regatta on May 3.  Paul Denison and Susan Justus won the best place by a junior and women, respectively.  Full results.

CSC Sailors represented the club  well at the Flying Scot Mid-Winters in Panama City, FL the week of March 23.  Kelly Gough and Skip Diebold placed 2nd out of 31 with Scott and Natalie Mauney and Michael Mittman close behind in 3rd.  The all women team of Greta Mittman, Susan Justis and Teresa Morris placed 6th out of 27 in the Challenger Fleet.  See the FSSA site for complete results and photos.

Bill Draheim took second at the Thistle Mid Winters.  There were 60 boats on the line with one start.  Eight races were sailed with no throw outs.  Bill won five out of the eight races.  Complete results and photos.
