Adult Members Sailing Lessons

Corinthian Sailing Club is an all-volunteer club, and all boats are privately owned, so we are not in a position to offer public sailing classes. However, we do offer adult sailing classes for new or existing club members, including Associate members. CSC is offering 2 free adult “learn to sail” class sessions on Monday and Thursday evenings. The first session starts May 10th and runs for 3 weeks through May 27th. The second session runs from June 7 -24. The first session if full, but if you are interested in the second session contact Steve Comen. The classes typically runfrom 6:30pm to 8:30pm for three weeks. The classes are free; an optional book is available for $15. Training is primarily in Flying Scots, but other fleets may participate.

Points to be covered include seamanship, leaving the pier, sailing upwind and points of sail, tacking, jibing, returning to pier, man overboard, and basic knots. The sessions will be on the water as long as the weather cooperates.

CSC members wishing to take this course must call or email Steve Comen (214-417-3864) to be signed up on the roster.  You may also contact Steve for more information.
