Sunday Rescue - Posted By: Red Dog Jones

On Sunday the 23rd of November, the Corinthian fleet had race committee duty. While the winds were high in the first race, during the second race in back to back races, at about 3:00PM, a huge blast of wind came through, knocking at least three boats over. While I do not know who was on all of the rescue boats, I would like to commend the whole Corinthian fleet for a job well done in very trying conditions. Personally, Mark Mimms and crew did a great job in getting my crew into the rescue boat and back to the club, then taking me out to retrieve my boat and ably assisted in another rescue boat by Norm Grail, Jerry and Alex. All sailors were safely pulled from the cold waters, with the help of the Bob Harrington ladders on the rescue boats, and one of the sailors was taken by Alana Strong and Audrey Duffel to get stitches in his head. I would like to thanks all who helped and compliment the sailors who all wore PFDs!!!!!!!
