Date: Sunday, 11 March 2007, at 8:42 p.m.

CSC SUMMER YOUTH SAILING CLASSES

CSC Junior Sailing ClassThe summer Youth Sailing Classes have been scheduled for 2007 at CSC. Katy Towles will be returning as our head instructor/coach. Katy actively races several classes of boats and will be graduating this year from OU. Katy is a Level II US Sailing certified instructor. We are fortunate to have Katy returning as a member of the CSC family. Working along with Katy will be several other instructors/coaches, two of whom hold Level I Certification from US Sailing and have worked with our program for several years. It should be a great summer of sailing.

Recommended Ages for the classes are 8 to 18. Those younger than 8 often are not ready. Average class age is typically 10 to 14 years. Check the session description on the registration form to ensure you sign up for the session appropriate for your childs skill level.

Extended Day Option -The normal class session will run from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm each day, which is often the physical limit for younger students. For those students who have the stamina and are interested in racing, we offer an Extended Day option for an additional fee. Extended Day will run from 2-4 p.m. each day and will focus on competitive sailing, with an introduction to racing.

The Youth Class Registration form will soon be posted on the Youth Sailing page of the CSC website.

A general description of the summer class sessions and summer youth sailing schedule is set forth below. Please sign up for the session(s) appropriate for your sailors skill level. For less experienced sailors, the Optimist Green Fleet will sail separately from the more experienced sailors. If you have never sailed in a regatta, you should give it a try. Everyone has fun, and in the Green Fleet you sail with other, sailors your age who are just starting out. Try it once and we guarantee, you will be hooked!! When published the The Notice of Race can be downloaded from the Texas Sailing Association Web site.

2007 Metroplex Junior Series
This series is a fun way to have your child introduced to racing and continue their sailing interests. CSC, together with other local sailing clubs, have gotten together to pool junior sailing to create a larger group.... for more information click here.
