Spruce Up Day Volunteers
Saturday March 4 starting at 8am
In order to ensure that we have all projects accomplished, our Spruce Up Day leader, Steve Beneson, has identified the following tasks in the number of folks required for each. Please contact Steve at email@example.com and kindly let him know the task which you volunteer.
Club house: Clean and paint the club house. Drop the flag mast, and replace all broken hardware and halyards. Replace, paint, and sand broken railing, and give the entire railing section good sanding and a coat of paint. A team of ten people is required for this task.
VIP: Remove old wood from VIP club house rafters and dispose. Team of four required.
Dock area: Replace rotten decking on all walkways with new decking which is identified in white paint. Roam the docks looking for loose boards to re-secure. This group needs to supply their own gear such as saws, measuring tapes and heavy duty electric drills with screw bits. 4 people are needed.
Water: Repair all water leaks. A contracted plumber will replace the main valve assembly near the south entry gates. This task will require removal of decking, remove damaged PVC pipe, and replace with new. A group of four or five people are required for this job, which will be directed by Bob Gough.
Entry Gates: Refresh both north and south entry gates with paint, and if possible, replace any rotten wood. Two folks needed.
Bathrooms and Tack Room: Clean the bathrooms and organize the tack room. Two to four people required.
Water Fountains: Replace water fountains with new. Team of two people required.
Please pick a task ahead of time, email Steve at firstname.lastname@example.org with your selection and come prepared to accomplish your assigned task. Steve will be running the dock project, so we need a captain for the clubhouse team of ten. If you’re up for that let Steve know, too.
Start time 8 AM with breakfast and lunch provided by the club. Let’s make our club proud!
CSC has purchased a defibrillator which is in the clubhouse near the weather station. Instructions on it's use are in the storage container. Detailed training materials are available here.
White Rock Lake Museum
A new museum has opened in the Bath House Cultural
Center to "preserve and present the human and natural history
of White Rock Lake Park and its surrounding environment."
CSC has helped with the development of this project and is being
recognized as a Bronze Patron sponsor for our efforts. We will
be listed on the Permanent Exhibit Plaque and in the Museum
& Lake Guide. A display on White Rock sailing will be prominently
featured in the White Rock Lake Museum. Check it out. See museum
website for more info.
