Spruce Up Day

Saturday - March 30

Details to come.

Splash Day

Sunday - March 31

Splash Day is back! Help us kick-off the spring racing season. Join us for burgers and fixin’s after races (around 5:00pm). $5 at the door, no RSVP needed. This is a BYOB event (including soft drinks). Open to all club members even if you’re not racing that day. Come on down, enjoy the sunset and a burger.

First Friday Parties 2019

Will start in April and run through October

First Friday party season passes are
available for club members.

April First Friday

Friday April 5th will be our first First Friday of the season. We’ll celebrate Mardi Gras a little late with food from Dodie’s Cajun Kitchen and be treated to jazz music by the Jamie Weston Combo.

Jamie and his family are members of CSC and Jamie is a music major at UNT. He’s formed a jazz band with some fellow students and they’ve been playing at area restaurants. We’re excited to have them play for us. Watch for sign-ups later in March.

Special Olympics Update

The annual Special Olympics sailing program will start Thursday, 9/6 and will end with the State Fair Regatta on 10/6. If you are interested in helping, please contact Red Dog Jones.

I am also very excited to announce that after one of the teams scheduled to attend World Games in Abu Dhabi next March had to withdraw and their slot has been awarded to Texas and Special Olympics athlete Tyler Dodson from Duncanville will skipper a 420 with Roland Foerster as crew at the World Games. I am looking forward to seeing Tyler and Roland continue the tradition of success for CSC Special Olympics teams!

Steve Comen

Ed's note - For those of you who have not heard, Steve is coach of the US Special Olymics sailing team.

CSC Clothing

Clothing with CSC logo, as shown below, may be
ordered directly from Coral Reef Sailing Apparel.

Defibrillator Instructions

CSC has purchased a defibrillator which is in the clubhouse near the weather station. Instructions on it's use are in the storage container. Detailed training materials are available here.

White Rock Lake Museum

A new museum has opened in the Bath House Cultural Center to "preserve and present the human and natural history of White Rock Lake Park and its surrounding environment." CSC has helped with the development of this project and is being recognized as a Bronze Patron sponsor for our efforts. We will be listed on the Permanent Exhibit Plaque and in the Museum & Lake Guide. A display on White Rock sailing will be prominently featured in the White Rock Lake Museum. Check it out. See museum website for more info.
